About This Blog
Originally, this was going to be an extension of the personal journals I’ve kept since junior high school. In re-reading those over the years, I realize that those served a specific purpose:
A place to work through the horrors of my particular childhood, and a way to navigate the emotional minefield that was me.
I’ve grown and changed a LOT since then, and no longer found such journaling useful. But writing has stayed with me. In my day-t0-day life, I find many things that amuse, entertain, and intrigue me. They make me think, piss me off, make me smile, or bring a strong enough reaction that I want to write about it.
The original title of this blog was titled, oddly, God’s Undies, and was a personal statement and declaration of my particular mindset back then. That was in 2005. The blog has evolved tremendously, adopting its current title from a specific phrase culled from one of my all-time favorite cartoons: Pinky and the Brain. Question is at once ridiculous and enticing, in that it makes one wonder what exactly another is pondering.
Brain: Pinky, are you pondering what I’m pondering?
Pinky: I think so, Brain, but burlap chafes me so.
I’ve always been a fan of unexpected humor. Maybe that’s why I find the movie Drop Dead Fred so dang hilarious. As I do The Princess Bride. And The Emperor’s New Groove.
But I digress…
So some elements of personal journaling are still present in this blog, but it now slants more toward events that affect me. Or about writing. Or books, which are just other people’s writing. Or music. Rarely politics, but even that creeps in sometimes.
It’s still an exploratory journey in which I map my ideals and beliefs, all the while knowing that life is fluid, and that I, like the world, continue to change.
